We have also started a new geometry unit in math. We have been learning the difference between 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional shapes. We have been observing shape attributes and comparing shapes by their sides. Below, the kids are on a shape hunt around our classroom!

Abilities Awareness
We had a great week celebrating Abilities Awareness! Each day, we had an assembly from a different presenter. The kids really enjoyed each presentation and gained a better understanding of how all people are different. Some of the photos below are from the presentation by CHAMP Support Dogs (Canine Helpers Allow More Possibilities) and from a presentation by Seeyon Choi, a Central High School student who is blind. CHAMP Support Dogs taught us all the ways dogs can help people. Seeyon shared his own personal experiences being blind and showed the children how he can read and write in Braille. We also had presentations by DASA, Dr. John Bruno, and The Ollie Hinkle Heart Foundation.

Finally Spring!
We have been very busy in our classroom as usual...too busy for me to put much on the blog this week, but we have been trying to get outside as much as possible to enjoy the spring weather (finally!). It has been beautiful the last few days, and the kids have been loving it!

Future Careers
We had so much fun on Dress Like Your Future Career Day this past Monday. Everyone was so excited to show off their outfits. We took turns guessing one another's careers, and then each child explained why that was his/her career of choice. It was a great celebration for our positive behavior!
We are so proud of our kindergarten leaders!

Spring Party!
Our Spring Party was so much fun as you can see from the photos below. We even ended the party with a surprise fire drill! The kids did a great job, even in the rain and cold, and thanks to all the parents who were here to help us. It was a great party...fire drill and all!
We have been working on "Whole Body Listening" as a class and met our monthly goal yesterday! On Monday April 2nd, we will have a celebration: dress like what you want to be when you grow up. We were so excited about meeting our goal, though, that we had to have a little early celebration. We got to work with our shoes off today! The kids were clearly very happy about that!
Have a happy, fun, and safe spring break!
