Letter & Word Hunt and Lots More!

Wow! We have a lot to fit in this week's blog post!

Today, we learned about the difference between letters and words. We went on a letter and word hunt in magazines with partners and cut out what we found.

At first, this was a little tricky for many of the kids; however, they quickly got the hang of it and collected many letters and words!

Also today, we practiced logging into our Chromebooks and playing Dreambox. Look for the Dreambox letter with home log-in information today in your child's folder. Whenever your child is playing Dreambox at home, make sure you aren't helping him/her complete activities, games, and lessons. If you help your child solve problems, Dreambox will "think" your child is able to do more than he/she is really capable of, and it will adjust accordingly. This will make the Dreambox activities too difficult for your child. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Earlier this week, Mr. Ryan, one of our school counselors came to do a classroom lesson with us. He taught our class about his job using Mr. Potato Head. Mr. Ryan will visit our classroom at least once a month to teach lessons about social skills.

Looking forward to another exciting week in kindergarten next week!
