Super Readers

Yesterday, we had quite a surprise in kindergarten. Our whole school, students and staff, lined the halls to celebrate our kindergarten super readers! We have been working very hard to learn "super reading" strategies to help us read new words: point to words, reread, look at the picture, say the first sound, and look for snap words. We call these our Super Reading Powers, so we thought it was appropriate to wear capes and masks and dress up as Super Readers for our parade! Your children were so excited and proud, and watching them as they looked at all the big kids clapping and cheering for them was truly heartwarming. It was adorable!

We are SO proud of our kindergarten Super Readers!

In social studies, we have been learning a lot about children and families around the world. This past week, we took some time to share our celebrations posters with one another. The kids loved hearing about the traditions and celebrations that are important to their friends.
