Love. Learn. Lead.

This past Friday, we had a whole school assembly to talk about our school's mission. Make sure to ask your child about our school's mission - Love. Learn. Lead.

Our class has been having a lot of fun during PE class, also! They have been working in stations to practice various physical activities, and they are preparing for the Pumpkin Run during PE class on Halloween!

Pumpkin Patch!

We had a beautiful day for our field trip to Thies Farms Pumpkinland! The kids had so much fun, and they each got their own pumpkin to take home. Thank you to all the parents who were able to come with us on the trip. It is safe to say, all the kids had a great time!

This week, we learned about the life cycle of a pumpkin. We read lots of books about pumpkins and even made our own pumpkin book that helped us practice a new word - see. Make sure to ask your child to read his or her "See the Pumpkin" book to you! We practiced reading to partners and pointing to words while we read.

Buddies!

This week, we went on a safety walk with Officer Kaatman. He discussed all the ways teachers and staff keep all the kids at school safe. He also talked about the four things to do in case of an emergency: listen, look, be quiet, and stay with your group. Officer Kaatman also explained that sometimes during emergencies, we need to leave school. We took a walk outside to locate our class' rally point. The kids did a great job listening!

We also had a surprise visit from the Chick-Fil-A Cow this week to celebrate Shenandoah Valley Chick-Fil-A night. 😊

One of the most popular activities of the week was getting to meet with our third grade buddies in Mrs. Williams' class. While we had already met our buddies back in August, today we did a getting to know you activity to learn more about our buddies. Your child brought home a paper with a drawing of his/her buddy. Make sure to ask your child about his/her buddy!
