We now have 12 adult ladybugs in our ladybug land! We have been watching the red in their shells darken as they grow older. The kids have been amazed to watch them as they grow and change. See our previous blog post from earlier this week for more ladybug pictures.

New Arrivals :)
We came to school this morning and discovered we had some new arrivals. We had four ladybugs this morning in our ladybug land that hatched from the pupa stage. The kids were so excited to see them!
We still have the majority of our larva in pupa stage right now, but we are watching the pupa change each day as they get closer to the adult ladybug stage we all know and love.
We are hoping we get the chance to watch some of them change from pupa to ladybug during the day. As you can imagine, our ladybug land provides lots of excitement each day. You also may or may not have children wanting to raise all kinds of insects in your homes to watch them grow and change. :)

Welcome to Ladybug Land!
Meet the newest members of our classroom...our ladybugs! Although right now, we are discovering that our ladybugs don't look quite like the ladybugs we know and love. That's because they haven't gone through metamorphosis yet! We have been learning all about the life cycle of a ladybug and even tried going through metamorphosis ourselves. 😊 We are excited to watch our ladybugs grow!

We are writers!
We have been hard at work in writing, and it shows! We have been revising and editing our books from our most recent unit to get ready to share them with a first grade class. They are very excited to show off all they have learned!
Special Olympics
We had many students from Shenandoah Valley competing in the Special Olympics today. Our class was amazed that we had children from our school competing, and they were so proud and happy to send them off as they left today. Our entire school stood outside and cheered them on as they walked to the bus!

Spring Party Animals
We were so excited today to have live animals come party with us at our Spring Party! There were many new animals the kids were able to meet and learn about. They also had the opportunity to pet each animal, too. The kids loved every minute of it, and many said, "This was the most awesome thing EVER!". Thanks to all the parents that organized this for us.

They loved learning about all these animals! If you aren't familiar with some of these animals, your kids should be able to fill you in. 😊
